Dauphin County Prison is currently accepting applications for the part-time, varied shift position of Teacher (GED). An employee in this position is responsible for professional work in remedial, vocational and continuing education. An employee in this position plans and delivers instructions; identifies resources; administers diagnostic and achievement tests; evaluates student progress; and makes appropriate recommendations consequent to same. The incumbent reports to the Education Supervisor and ultimately to the Deputy Warden for Treatment.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university, with major coursework in elementary, secondary, special, or adult education or a related field; one year experience in education; and a valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate. Advanced coursework in corrections education may be substituted at the rate of 30 academic credits per year of professional experience. The qualified candidate must be at least 21 years of age by the date of hire.
