Youth Center is
currently accepting applications for part-time positions of Youth Program Specialist
I or Aide. An employee in this position maintains a safe
and secure environment for youth through observation, supervision, meaningful
interaction and enforcement of rules and regulations while promoting the
welfare of youth in their care. Incumbent provides direct service to the residents
of the facility. Responsibilities include intake (including completion of
forms, inventory of personal possessions, unclothed searches, supervision of
resident hygiene, room assignment and orientation), meaningful interaction,
program planning, resident supervision (during wake and sleeping hours)
laundry, and preparation of behavioral summaries. This is a union position.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an
accredited college or university, with major coursework in Criminal Justice, Sociology,
Social Work, Psychology, Education and/or related field(s) for a Specialist I
position or 60 credits towards a Bachelor’s degree in any field listed above
for a Specialist Aide position.
