• What date range of judgments is available?
  The date range for judgments currently available in the subscription service is January 1, 1983 through December 31, 2001.
• How do I perform a defendant search?
  To perform a defendant search, you must enter a last name or business name in the Last Name/Business field. Enter the first name of the defendant in the First Name field to narrow the search down. Then click the Submit button. Entering just a last name will perform a search, which returns all individuals and businesses with that last name. Entering a last name and first name will perform a search, which returns all individuals with that last name and that first name or greater. For example, entering “Smith” as a last name and “A” as a first name will bring back all individuals with the last name of Smith and the first name beginning with an “A”.
  From the list of search results, click on any name to view further details about that docket.
• How do I narrow my search?
  The more complete the first and last names for an individual are, the narrower the search will be. However, if there are businesses associated with the last name, they may not appear in such a narrow search.
• Why is my search name not found?
  Double-check the spelling of the first and last name. If you still think that the search criteria that you entered is correct and should have produced a list of names, contact the Dauphin County Information Technology Department.
• How can I get other Prothonotary information?
  At this time, all other Prothonotary information can be found at the Prothonotary’s office in the Dauphin County Courthouse.
