  • How far back can I search for indices on this site?
Deeds indices in the subscription service can be searched as far back as January 1, 1979. At this time, any data prior to 1979 can only be searched in the Recorder of Deeds office in the Dauphin County Courthouse.
  • How do I perform a grantor search?
To search for a grantor name, you must select a valid start and stop date.  If the date fields are left blank, the start date will default to 1/1/1979 and the stop date will default to whatever the last current file date is in the system.  You must enter a last name or business name in the Last Name/Business Name field.  If you are looking for an individual and not a business, a first name or partial first name must be entered.  Select the Grantor button.  Check the Search As Firm box if the name is a business name.   Click the Submit button.
The items in the search results will display corresponding book, page, file number, document type and file date fields.  To see the details of the index with all grantors and grantees listed, click on the name you wish to view.

  • How do I narrow my search?
The more complete the first and last name fields are, the narrower the search will be. For example, entering “Smith” as a last name and “A” as a first name will bring back all individuals with the last name of Smith and the first name beginning with an “A”. Entering “Smith” as a last name and “Alan” as a first name will bring back fewer search results. (All individuals with the last name of “Smith” and the first name of “Alan”.)
